MUSSOORIE: A 24-year-old New Delhi resident, Rajat Sachdeva, died after he lost control of the wheels and his car fell into a deep gorge from Mussoorie-Hathipaon road near Lambidhar, nearly eight kilometres from Mussoorie. His friend, 22-year-old Simran Bhardwaj, sustained critical injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at a Dehradun-based medical facility.
According to police, the two were going towards Dehradun on Monday morning after visiting Sir George Everest House when the vehicle veered off the road. Soon after the accident, police and fire department personnel launched a rescue operation. While Rajat died on the spot, Simran was rushed to the nearby hospital.
