VARANASI: One Hira Rayin (32) of Darbhanga in Bihar jumped off a moving train in his bid to save his 3-year-old daughter near Bahedwa halt in Varanasi on Sunday. They both died in the freak accident.
Inspector Rajiv Singh of Mirzamurad police station said that the incident came to light after Rayin’s wife Zarina Khatoon pulled the chain to stop the train and locals reported the matter to police. Bodies had been sent for postmortem examination, he said, adding that local relatives of Rayin and his wife reached the police station.
