PRAYAGRAJ: The MP-MLA court of Pratapgarh on Wednesday awarded seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 to former MP and outgoing MLC Akshay Pratap Singh alias Gopal Bhaiya, a close associate of Kunda MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya, in an arms licence fraud case.
Earlier, on March 15, this court had found him guilty of obtaining a revolver's licence on a fake address and convicted him accordingly. Subsequently, on March 22, the MP-MLA court had heard him on the quantum of punishment to be awarded in this case. Later, the court had directed him to be taken into custody.
