Uttar Pradesh elections: People have stooped so low, they wish for my death, says PM Modi in Varanasi

VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in a veiled attack for his December 13 remarks, and said, "Up to what extent people have stooped low in Indian politics becomes clear when someone wishes for my death publicly."

Addressing a "booth victory" convention of BJP workers at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University on Sunday with a sore throat, Modi said, "When people were feeling proud over the grandeur of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, I experienced one more thing. I don’t believe in criticizing anyone, but when someone starts wishing for my death publicly, I feel how low people in Indian politics have stooped."
