GORAKHPUR: Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said that during the BJP-led government's rule in UP, the economy of the state grew three-fold as "we are running a triple engine government". In Akhilesh Yadav's government, officials were posted on the instruction of mafia, he said.
"If BJP comes to power in the state, free journey arrangements will be made for women above 60 years of age, Annapurna canteen will be run and credit card of Rs one lakh will be given," Rajnath said while seeking votes for party's Barhaj candidate Deepak Mishra in Deoria.
"With the vision of PM Modi, CM Yogi and contribution of people, we are running a triple engine government in the state. India has not only become a splendid country, but our prestige has increased at international platforms. During Akhilesh Yadav's government, officials were posted on the instruction of the mafia. Our ministers have no blot of corruption . However, most of the ministers of SP, BSP and Congress were blotted," Singh said at Bhaluani in Deoria while addressing people.
"In 2017 when we formed the government in the state the economy was of Rs 11 lakh crore and in 2022 the economy grew three-fold and has become worth Rs 31 lakh crore. The opposition speaks of high inflation, but during their rule there was no pandemic but still the inflation was higher," he added.
"We promise that in six months, inflation will be controlled. We give free ration twice a month and this arrangement is nowhere in the world," Rajnath said.
The defence minister said, "We will enter the other side of the boundary and kill terrorists and will never let lower the head of 'Bharat Mata'."
"Uttar Pradesh has Ramrajya and not Danga Rajya. Here good people don't live under fear and bad people are punished. We do politics to make society and not to form only government. When SP, BSP, raise questions over the valour of our forces, they play politics for the unity of the country," he added.
Rajnath said that BJP is real 'samajwadi' as the meaning of ''samajwad is to free the society from fear, hunger and corruption. We not only give ration and money but also run bulldozers', he said.
