Uttar Pradesh: 2,000 cops, 500 cameras to watchover kanwar yatra routes

Ghaziabad Police Meerut

GHAZIABAD: Over 2,000 policemen — 200 of them in plain clothes — have been deployed on the routes earmarked for the kanwar yatra in Ghaziabad.

On a day the yatra began, representatives from various districts and their police forces held a meeting in Meerut to discuss the preparations. The meeting was convened by additional chief secretary (home) Awanish Awasthi and director-general of police DS Chauhan.
