Finance and Health Minister T. Harish Rao called upon the beneficiaries of Dalit Bandhu to make use of the scheme.
Addressing a gathering after distributing Dalit Bandhu units to 128 beneficiaries at Gajwel along with Lok Sabha member K. Prabhakar Reddy, Zilla Parishad chairperson V. Roja Sharma and others on Tuesday, Mr. Harsih Rao said that K. Chandrasekhar Rao is the only Chief Minister in the country who transferred cash to beneficiary under Dalit Bandhu scheme.
“Use the money received under Dalit Bandhu to stand on your own. You have to prove yourself that you are not short of others in competing if an opportunity is given. The scheme is being extended to all the eligible beyond party lines. Dalit Bandhu is being implemented on an agitation mode and this year we have allotted ₹ 17,800 crore in the budget to benefit about 2 lakh beneficiaries. Never in the history so much amount was spent on single scheme so far. The credit of establishing girls residential schools for dalits also goes to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao,” said Mr. Harish Rao.
Informing that the government will be offering ₹ 3 lakh for those constructing a house in their own site, the Minister said that priority will be accorded to dalits in sanctioning this amount.
