Utah Mosquito Samples Testing Positive for West Nile Have Jumped From 39 to 296 in a Single Season

The headline number out of Utah this week is not the human case. It is 296.

That is how many mosquito samples have tested positive for West Nile virus across Utah so far in 2026. At the same point last season, the statewide figure was 39. In 2024 it was 18.
