Utah Man Gets Moldy Triple Dipper at Chili’s, Gets It Replaced Only to Receive Another Flawed Order and Free Dessert: ‘Would Not Be Able to Go Back’

After diligently visiting a particular food spot for years, having one bad experience there can ruin the entire reputation you have built for it in your mind. For example, there was a specific cafe where I always bought a gluten-free brownie because they were so delicious. I had been going there for over a year, but recently, when I tried the brownie again, I realized it had changed in taste. Honestly, I disliked the new flavor so much that I stopped visiting the place, which used to be one of my most frequented eateries until last month.

TikTok user @jasonbear1987 posted a video on September 18, 2025, sharing a disappointing experience at a Chili’s with his siblings. He ordered their popular Triple Dipper, and when the food arrived, he was excited to try it but was deeply disappointed to find that the bread used for the dish was moldy. He then spoke with the manager, who apologized and offered a replacement. However, when the new dish arrived, it was moldy too.

TikTok user shares his Chili’s experience with the internet

As previously mentioned, on September 18, 2025, TikTok user @jasonbear1987 uploaded a video about his unfortunate experience at a Chili’s Outlet while visiting with his brother and sister.

As @jasonbear1987 explains in his TikTok video, he ordered the famous Triple Dipper as an appetizer, which included egg rolls, sliders, and mozzarella sticks. He ate the egg rolls first, then the sliders, but one of the sliders slipped from his hand and fell. To his horror, he noticed tiny blue dots on the bun, indicating it had turned moldy. @jasonbear1987 sister also ordered the Triple Dipper and quickly became reluctant to eat her food after seeing what happened to her brother’s dish, which was the same. @jasonbear1987’s brother also worried his food had gone bad, as he had ordered something with bread too.

@jasonbear1987 informed their server about the incident, who called the manager. When she arrived, she apologized for the mistake and offered to prepare the same dishes with fresh ingredients. She also said she would instruct her staff to discard any bread showing signs of spoiling. Although @jasonbear1987 was initially hesitant to accept the replacement after such a disappointing experience, he eventually agreed. The new Triple Dippers arrived, but to everyone’s horror, the bread was again showing signs of staleness. This time, it was @jasonbear1987’s sister’s bread that was moldy. @jasonbear1987 reported this to the waiter again, but this time the manager did not come out. Instead, they offered to remove the cost of the appetizer from the bill and provide a free dessert.

Talking about the manager not coming out to address the moldy bread issue a second time, @jasonbear1987 expressed his deep disappointment in his TikTok video. He mentioned that he and his siblings visited Chili’s during a quiet time when there weren’t many customers, and stated that they wouldn’t have possibly been able to handle such a situation during a busy period.

How can one complain about stale food at Chili’s?

Then, depending on the situation, you either ask for the manager to address it, or the server will call them. When the manager arrives, explain the problem and try to resolve it in the best way possible. However, if the issue is not resolved, there are other options available.
