Usher fans who craved more of the iconic singer after his electrifying Super Bowl LVIII halftime show performance can rejoice, as he is making a grand return, this time on the silver screen. The Grammy-winning artist is set to captivate audiences worldwide with his upcoming film, Usher: Rendezvous in Paris, hitting theaters on Thursday, September 12, for a limited engagement.
The film chronicles Usher's unforgettable performance at Paris Fashion Week at La Seine Musicale, showcasing some of his biggest hits like “Yeah!,” “My Boo,” and “Love in This Club,” among others. Usher expressed his excitement, stating, “Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans. I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was.”
Directed by Anthony Mandler, the film will be screened in over 2,000 theaters globally by AMC. Adam Aron, chairman and CEO of AMC, praised Usher as a perfect fit for the theater chain.
Aside from the concert footage, the film will offer a glimpse into Usher's personal life. Earlier this year, Usher tied the knot with his longtime partner Jenn Goicoechea, who is a senior vice president of A&R at Epic Records. The couple, who first sparked dating rumors in 2019, recently welcomed two children, Sovereign and Sire.
During the 55th annual NAACP Image Awards, Usher expressed gratitude to the influential women in his life, acknowledging his mother and wife for their unwavering support. He emphasized the importance of having strong women by his side.
Usher: Rendezvous in Paris will be showcased at various AMC and Odeon locations from September 12-15. Tickets for the screening can be purchased starting Tuesday, August 6, at 9 a.m. ET on UsherInParis.com.
