USC Implements Disciplinary Process For Violations

The University of Southern California has initiated a disciplinary process for campus members who have violated both university policies and the law, according to a statement released by President Carol L. Folt. Folt emphasized the importance of freedom of expression as a foundational value of the university, acknowledging the lawful marches, vigils, and peaceful demonstrations that have taken place throughout the year.

However, Folt made it clear that while free speech and assembly are valued, they do not extend to activities that obstruct equal access to campus, damage property, incite harassment, violence, or threats. Additionally, any actions that disrupt the normal functions of the university, including commencement ceremonies, will not be tolerated.
