US Tariffs on Brazil Boost Arabica Coffee Prices

September arabica coffee (KCU25) Thursday closed up +3.75 (+1.32%), and September ICE robusta coffee (RMU25) closed down -150 (-4.32%).

Coffee prices on Thursday settled mixed, with arabica coffee posting a 1-week high and robusta sliding to a 2-week low. President Trump's action on Wednesday to raise tariffs on Brazilian goods to 50% is boosting arabica coffee prices, as concerns grow that the higher tariffs will disrupt coffee supplies from Brazil, the world's largest producer of arabica coffee.
