Dr. Brian Christine, a four-star admiral, has stepped into the role of assistant HHS secretary and the top official responsible for infectious disease policy within the Trump administration. As such, he is steering the government’s response to the hantavirus outbreak of MV Hondius.
Per The Independent, before this high-level government position, Christine was a urologist in Alabama. He was also known for a YouTube show called Erection Connection, where he discussed erectile dysfunction. It’s certainly a unique background for someone now tasked with managing infectious disease policy on a national level.
