The US Supreme Court Justice Alito has extended the temporary halt on a controversial Texas immigration law. The law, which was set to go into effect, has been put on hold pending further review by the highest court in the country.
The law in question seeks to restrict the transportation of migrants who have crossed the border illegally. It would allow Texas state troopers to stop vehicles suspected of carrying undocumented immigrants and send them back to their point of origin.
