Liberia will receive as many as 1,200 people deported from the United States over the coming year — including nationals from Latin America and the Caribbean who have no personal ties to the West African country — with the first 20 arrivals expected in Monrovia on Thursday. Liberian officials confirmed the arrangement this week, describing it as one of the largest third-country removal deals disclosed anywhere under the Trump administration's deportation push.
