US Citizenship and Immigration Services has raised fees for some immigration-related applications under H.R. 1 for FY2027, with the increases tied to inflation over the year to July 2026.
The adjustments reflect inflation between July 2025 and July 2026 and will add to the cost of certain immigration filings from October 16, 2026.
USCIS had earlier published a notice on July 22 outlining how the H.R. 1 immigration-related fees would be implemented. Under the law, the Department of Homeland Security will adjust certain fees for inflation in each fiscal year, beginning with FY 2026.
When will the new immigration fees take effect?
The new inflation-adjusted fees will take effect on October 16, 2026. Applications and requests postmarked on or after this date must include the updated fee if the benefit being sought is subject to the revised charges.
USCIS said requests submitted on or after October 16 without the correct filing fee will be rejected.
Fee changes outlined in the Federal Register notice:
| Form Type | Previous Fee | New Fee |
| Annual Asylum Application Fee | $102 | $105 |
