WASHINGTON: The White House confirmed on Tuesday that US President Joe Biden has tested negative for Covid-19 and is scheduled to travel to India on Thursday to participate in the G20 Summit. During this summit, President Biden will engage in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This announcement follows the recent positive Covid-19 test result for First Lady Jill Biden on Monday. President Biden, who is 80 years old, underwent Covid-19 testing on both Monday and Tuesday, with both tests returning negative results.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan provided details during a White House press conference, saying, "On Thursday, the President will journey to New Delhi to attend the G20 leader's summit. On Friday, President Biden will engage in a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Modi. Subsequently, on Saturday and Sunday, he will take part in the official sessions of the G20 summit."
