US Open: Rohan Bopanna, Matthew Ebden enter men's doubles semi-finals

Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden pulled off an impressive feat in the opening set, fending off seven set points, before defeating Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow to secure their spot in the US Open men's doubles semifinals.

This achievement marks their second consecutive appearance in the last-four stage of Grand Slam events this year.

The Indo-Australian duo, seeded sixth in the tournament, triumphed over the American pairing with a 7-6 (10), 6-1 victory in the quarterfinals of the prestigious hard court major.

Previously this year, Bopanna and Ebden had reached the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championships, where they faced a defeat at the hands of Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski.

Remarkably, the 43-year-old Indian player now has a chance to reach a Grand Slam men's doubles final for the second time in his career. It's worth noting that his maiden Grand Slam final appearance was at the US Open back in 2010.

Their next challenge in the semifinals will be the French pair of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut, who secured their place by defeating Robert Galloway and Albano Olivetti from France.

Unfortunately, Bopanna's journey in the mixed doubles event came to an end with a second-round defeat alongside his Indonesian partner, Aldila Sutjiadi.
