Novak Djokovic’s US Open campaign ended in stunning fashion on Sunday after the 39-year-old suffered his earliest Grand Slam exit in more than two decades.
The 24-time major champion was beaten by Argentina’s Mariano Navone 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-4, 2-6, 1-6 in a gruelling first-round encounter that lasted four hours and 35 minutes.
