Musetti’s timing was perfect, because the rain has now stopped play on the other courts, with Badosa having blazed her way through the first set 6-1 against Kasatkina, and the boom or bust Jelena Ostapenko 4-3 down on serve in the opener against the German veteran Tatjana Maria. Iva Jovic, Alex de Minaur and Rafael Jodar haven’t even started their day matches yet, and neither have Britain’s Jan Choinski and Fran Jones, and it’s uncertain now if they’ll play today.
