The US State Department has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information on Hashim Finyan Rahim al-Saraji, also known as Abu Alaa al-Walai, the leader of the Tehran-backed Iraqi armed group Kataeb Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS), which Washington designates as a terrorist organisation.
In a post on X on Friday, US officials said they were seeking information on al-Saraji’s whereabouts. The post said those providing information “could be eligible for relocation and a reward”.
