US midterm elections 2026: Missing the voter registration deadline can be stressful, especially with the November 3, 2026, General Election approaching. But in California, there is still a way for eligible voters to register and cast a ballot. The option is called conditional voter registration, also known as Same Day Voter Registration. It gives voters who missed the regular deadline another chance to register and vote before or on Election Day, as per the official website of California Secretary of State.
