The U.S. Justice Department's antitrust division was instructed earlier this week to pause all work with the Canadian government, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing emails, amid a trade dispute between Washington and Ottawa.
The neighboring nations, close allies for decades, have been increasingly at odds over trade and other issues since President Donald Trump returned to the White House in early 2025. The trade spat has led to tariffs on tens of billions of dollars in cross-border trade.
