US President Donald Trump on Saturday said a deal with Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, raising hopes of a formal end to months of conflict that disrupted oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and threatened to drag the Middle East into a wider war.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the Strait of Hormuz would be immediately "open to all" once the agreement is signed.
