US iPhone owners could be owed up to $95 each after Apple lawsuit

  • Apple has agreed to a $250m (£184m) settlement in a class action lawsuit concerning alleged false advertising of its Apple Intelligence features.
  • The lawsuit, filed in 2024, claimed that iPhones launched without promised AI upgrades to Siri, which were advertised to be available with new devices that autumn.
  • The delayed AI overhaul for Siri, initially expected in 2024, is now confirmed to be unveiled at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference in June.
  • Owners of an iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max purchased in the US between June 2024 and March 2025 could be eligible for up to $95 per device.
  • Apple did not admit fault in the settlement, saying that it resolved the matter to focus on delivering innovative products and services.
