The United States is set to impose new sanctions on Tehran in response to Iran's recent large-scale attack on Israel. The attack, which involved around 300 ballistic projectiles, most of which were intercepted by Israel and its allies, has escalated tensions in the region.
Iran claimed that the attack on Israel was in retaliation for an Israeli strike on its diplomatic compound in Syria. In light of these developments, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan announced the forthcoming sanctions, aimed at disrupting the Iranian regime's destabilizing activities.
