US import ban on Canadian alcohol, other products comes into effect

Washington: A new US import ban on several Canadian products, including many alcoholic beverages, went into effect Tuesday as US President Donald Trump's economic war against one of his country's largest trading partners deepens.

The ban was announced earlier this month and entered into force on Tuesday at 12:01 am US Eastern time.
