Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair CQ Brown recently revealed that Israel has not been granted every weapon it has requested from the United States. Brown explained that while the US has been supporting Israel with military capabilities, there have been instances where Israel's requests could not be fulfilled. This could be due to limitations in the US's current capacity or a decision not to provide certain weapons at the moment.
According to Brown's spokesperson, Navy Captain Jereal Dorsey, the chairman's comments were part of the standard practice of assessing US stockpiles and readiness before providing military aid to allies. Dorsey emphasized that there has been no change in US policy, and the US continues to offer security assistance to Israel as they defend themselves against threats like Hamas.
During recent meetings between Brown and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in Washington DC, Israel reportedly made requests for various forms of military assistance. Gallant specifically expressed Israel's interest in acquiring new squadrons of F-15 and F-35 fighter jets, as well as Apache helicopters.
Israeli defense officials have been advocating for expedited approval and progress on weapons transfers from the US. The growing weapons sales from the US to Israel have been a key focus for Israeli authorities, who are keen on enhancing their military capabilities through strategic partnerships.
