Antony Blinken U.N. Security Council holds a quarterly open debate on the Middle East in New York

During a meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at the UN General Assembly, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts to prevent a full-blown war in the Middle East. Blinken stated that the US is actively engaged in diplomatic initiatives to address the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Blinken highlighted the acute risk of escalation in the region and stressed the need for all parties involved to focus on de-escalation. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire deal in Gaza, urging all parties to work towards reaching an agreement.
