Austin, along with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, penned a joint letter urging Israel to boost aid flows to Gaza within 30 days or face potential consequences regarding US military aid.

While Austin refrained from elaborating on the contents of the letter, he highlighted the recent death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as a potential opportunity to escalate aid distribution to Gaza residents. He stressed the necessity of ensuring that civilians in Gaza receive essential resources for survival.
