US comedian Carrot Top taken to hospital after falling ill

  • Comedian Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Christopher Thompson, has been rushed to hospital after falling ill on Friday night.
  • The 61-year-old prop comic was forced to cancel his Friday and Saturday performances at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas .
  • His representative confirmed he is recovering in hospital and receiving the necessary care, while asking for privacy for his family.
  • MGM Resorts International described Thompson as a beloved family member and expressed relief at news of his recovery.
  • Thompson has performed at the Luxor since November 2005, making his residency one of the longest-running comedy shows in Las Vegas.
