Urgent search for missing person in the sea at popular UK beach as rescue operation launched

A multi-team search operation to find the missing person was suspended last night - (Newquay coastguard search and rescue team / Facebook)

Rescue teams are searching for a missing person who was last seen struggling in the water off a popular beach in Cornwall yesterday.

The huge multi-service operation was launched after the casualty was seen in the sea at Great Western beach in Newquay shortly after 5pm on Saturday, December 27.
