An urgent recall has been issued for white balloons sold on Amazon which contain a chemical that may cause cancer.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued the warning earlier this week, and there are 29 affected products here in Ireland, the Irish Mirror reports. The balloons contain an excessive number of N-nitrosatable compounds which are harmful to the health of consumers and result in cancer.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said in a statement: "If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately, discard the product and keep out of the reach of children.

“You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on Amazon."
While the brand of the balloons are currently unknown, the type/number of the affected models is 0406407, the ASIN number is B09CK6QLKS and the barcode is X001H78AQT.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is advising anyone who may have purchased these balloons to contact Amazon for a refund.
Meanwhile, earlier this month there was a recall for toys sold on eBay due to choking hazard fears for young babies and children.
