Householders have been urged to check their fridges and cupboards after a number of food products have been recalled over safety fears.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued multiple food alerts and allergen warnings as items sold in supermarkets such as Dunnes Stores and Iceland have been marked as unsafe to consume. Many popular products such as chicken, juice, and sweets have made the list.
A notice on the FSAI website said: "Food alerts are notifications issued by the FSAI to official agencies and food businesses or other businesses relating to an identified hazard i.e. a biological, chemical or physical agent in, or condition of, food/food contact materials with the potential to cause adverse health effects.

"Food allergen alerts are issued by the FSAI regarding the possible risk to consumers with food allergies or food intolerances from a particular food or batch of food. Reasons why food allergen alerts are issued include, the undeclared presence of an allergen or inadequate/incorrect allergen labelling."

Dunnes Stores Wild Atlantic Prawns and Dunnes Stores Queen Scallops and King Prawns
The following batches of Dunnes Stores Queen Scallops and King Prawns were mispacked with Dunnes Stores Wild Atlantic Prawns with Smoked Garlic and Herb Butter. Dunnes Stores is recalling these batches as they may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk, molluscs, sulphur dioxide, and sulphites.
Pulsin Plant Based Bars
The following batches of Pulsin Plant Based Bars may have soya which isn't mentioned on the label. This could make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of soya.
Donnybrook Fair Banana Bread
This batch of Donnybrook Fair Banana Bread was mispacked with Donnybrook Fair Carrot Cake. The implicated product has batch code 073 and a best-before date of 21/03/2023.
This product contains milk and walnuts which are not declared in the list of ingredients. This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk and/or walnuts.
Yaadgaar Assorted Baklava
The following batches of Yaadgaar Assorted Baklava may contain milk which is not declared in the list of ingredients making it unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant to milk:
Batch codes: 2311, 2324 and 3016; best before dates: 07/05/2023, 20/05/2023 and 16/07/2023

A batch of The Apple Farm Still Irish Apple Juice is being recalled due to possible fermentation that may cause bottle breakage. The implicated products have batch code M152 and the best-before date of 31/02/2024.

BC Assorted Jelly Straws and Jelly Fruity sweets
All batches of ABC Assorted Jelly Straws and ABC Assorted Jelly Fruity sweets have been recalled as they may present a choking risk due to the presence of unauthorised gel-forming additives. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.
Iceland Creamy Garlic Chicken Breasts
The following of Iceland Cook from Frozen Creamy Garlic Chicken Breasts in Blankets is being recalled due to the presence of Salmonella: Pack size: 410g; approval number: PL 22040305 WE; Best before: 15/8/2023
People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours. The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps.
The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to be severely affected.
