Urgent police search for north London schoolboy, 13, ‘who should be with family on Christmas Day’

Missing boy Abdul, 13, from Islington - (Metropolitan Police)

Police are desperate to find a missing teenage boy before Christmas Day amid fears for his safety.

Abdul, 13 - whose surname is being withheld - was last seen leaving his family home in Islington, north London, nearly two weeks ago.

Initially, officers said he had on his school uniform but now think he was wearing a black tracksuit with white trainers.

Despite extensive enquiries from the Metropolitan Police, Abdul hasn’t been seen or heard from since Saturday, December 13.

His father said: “As a family, we are deeply concerned for Abdul’s safety and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.”

Detective Chief Inspector Sarb Kaur, who is leading the investigation to find the boy, added: “Abdul should be spending Christmas day with his family, like any other 13-year-old boy.

“We are increasingly concerned for his welfare, particularly as temperatures drop, and want to see him home and safe.

“We believe Abdul could be in Hounslow and would urge the public to contact us immediately if they see him.

“Abdul, if you’re reading this, please get in touch with us or your family, we just want you home and safe.”

Under national guidance adopted by the Met but not all forces, appeals for vulnerable missing people are restricted to the first names only to protect future privacy and reduce their long-term digital footprint.

Anyone who sees Abdul should dial 999 immediately, quoting 8067/13DEC.
