An urgent orange forest fire warning has been issued for the country by the Department of Agriculture.
The warning is in place from now until midday tomorrow. The Department say that the "weather patterns" over the next 24 hours will put forests, places on high ground, and dry places at risk.
They have issued the following tips to prevent a forest fire from starting, and how you can help if you spot one:
- Do not cause or light fires in and around forests or open land
- Dispose of smoking materials responsible
- Do not attempt to intervene or fight fires
- Gather everybody and move to a safe fuel-free location such as a car park, upwind of fire
- Call 999 or 112 to report a fire

Dublin Fire Brigade have added their own call to the warnings, as they are currently battling a gorse blaze in Glencullen in south Dublin. They said: "An orange fire warning is in place until midday Saturday.
"Firefighters are currently dealing with a gorse wildfire in Glencullen Co. Dublin. Smoke is visible but crews are working to bring it under control."
