Urgent message to households expecting their cost of living payment next week

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has warned not everyone should expect the second cost of living payment to arrive on November 8.

More than eight million homes are set to receive the payment which begins rolling out from November 8 to 23. The £324 payment is the second half of the means-tested cost of living support but only those claiming certain DWP benefits will be able to claim it.

People claiming Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits can expect the support as long as they are not receiving any other means-tested benefits. The payment will be issued automatically between.
