Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to a collision which has left a man fighting for his life.
A black Citroen Berlingo collided with a male pedestrian on the A19 slip road at the junction with Chester Road, Sunderland, at around 7.20pm on Saturday, December 3.
The driver of the Citroen stayed at the scene and helped officers with their enquiries, but the pedestrian, in his 40s, is still in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“We are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident, as well as those who have dash cam footage, to come forward,” a spokesman for Northumbria Police said.
