Merseyside Police have issued an update on its investigation into a baby's sudden death.
Officers received a call from North West Ambulance Service at around 4.30pm on Saturday, January 1, after a three month old baby was reported to have died at an address on Goschen Street in Old Swan.
People living on the street told the ECHO at the time there were multiple police cars, police vans, an ambulance and scientific support staff at the scene.

Eyewitnesses also said police were making door to door enquiries and left the scene at around 10.15pm on Saturday.
A force incident manager for Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO at the time that a police investigation was underway following the incident.
On January 5, police said a post mortem had taken place and the full cause of death is pending.
In an update today, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the investigation remains ongoing and police are awaiting toxicology results.

On Saturday, January 1 a force incident manager for Merseyside Police told the ECHO: "Police received a call at 4.30pm in the afternoon on Saturday, January 1 after a report from the ambulance service that a three-month-old child had passed away.
"This is part of protocol for information to be passed on to police when something like this happens and officers attended the scene.
"A police investigation is now underway."
