Update given on Nottingham central library as work to begin over summer

Further details into the fit-out of Nottingham's £10m central library have been released. A London-based firm praised for being eco-friendly will be the preferred contractor when the library is furnished over the summer.

According to Nottingham City Council documents a contract with Morgan Sindall has been agreed to carry out work relating to the opening of the new library in Collin Street. The fit-out was delayed as the council sought to find the £10m needed to complete it.

It is now understood work to start the fit-out will begin in July this year. A contractor has already been secured to start these works.
