All upcoming Xbox Series X games to keep an eye on

2025

Dynasty Warriors Origins

Developer: Omega Force
Release date: January 17, 2025
Game Pass: TBC

We are kicking off 2025 with a new Dynasty Warriors game, Dynasty Warriors Origins. The upcoming Xbox Series X game will have players take on the role of a nameless protagonist and fight to conquer The Three Kingdoms, classic. From game trailers, Dynasty Warriors Origins looks fantastic, with the world and characters having an extra sense of realism that we haven't seen from the franchise before. The snazzy visuals paired with the promise of chaotic 1 vs 1,000 action as we take on waves of soldiers in one strike is very exciting and will no doubt start the New Year with a bang.

Tales Of Graces f Remastered

Release date: January 17, 2025
Developer(s): Tose, Namco Tales Studio
Game Pass: TBC

Those who were won over by Tales Of Arise might be wondering what to try next. Considering most Tales games, like other long-running Japanese RPG series, are standalone. Tales Of Graces f Remastered is a solid pick, mixing together some great clicky real-time combat with a charming story full of loveable characters. Originally released on Wii, you can still tell that's the case here – it's not a full overhaul – but if you're looking for a colorful adventure with good vibes and engaging fights you could do much worse.

Synduality: Echo of Ada

Release date: January 23, 2025
Developer: Game Studio Inc
Game Pass: TBC

This Player-versus-player-versus-environment (PvPvE) extraction shooter shoves your anime-styled character of choice into a mech named a 'Cradlecoffin', which says it all. Exploring the alien surface of another planet, you have to scoop up resources while staying alive long enough to bring them back to base. Your bipod mech is surprisingly satisfying to control, and customizing it to play how you want creates an interesting loop. The genre might be oversaturated, but Synduality looks set to bring a genuinely fresh approach – if it has legs.

Sniper Elite: Resistance

Release date: January 30, 2025
Developer: Rebellion
Game pass: Yes

The stealth sniper series is back! This time, Sniper Elite: Resistance places you deep behind enemy lines within occupied France during World War 2. While your sniper shots may be loud and gory, this mixes third-person shooting with almost Hitman-like stealth mechanics that have you snaking your way to the perfect vantage point, and losing pursuers once your nest has been rumbled. Even more period-appropriate weapons are yours to play with as you work with the French Resistance to liberate the country, and, of course, the X-Ray cam is back to allow you to revel in the damage you're causing the Nazi forces.

Civilization 7

Release date: February 11, 2025
Developer: Firaxis Games
Game Pass: TBC

Eight years since the last game, it's good to know that the next installment in the Civilization series is on the way. While it's set to release in 2025, we do already know that Civilization 7 will launch consecutively on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in February. The stunning trailers shown during Gamescom 2024 hint at a story of evolution, growth, and the passage of time, so get ready for a return to one of the best strategy games ever come 2025.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Release date: February 11, 2025
Developer: Warhorse Studios
Game Pass: TBC

The upcoming RPG Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 looks set to up the ante when it comes to dynamic first-person melee action, all set against the backdrop of medieval Europe. Henry is getting back into the saddle as our leading man, out seeking vengeance for his family. Only this time, he's looking a lot sharper and all the more capable for it, thanks to the refined visuals in KCD2.

Warhorse presents an experience that looks set to challenge our expectations in every way, from its biting British humor to the weighty first-person combat. After our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 hands-on we called it "deeply ambitious" and can't wait to see how this comes together.

Assassin's Creed Shadows

Release date: February 14, 2025
Developer: Ubisoft Quebec
Game Pass: TBC

Assassin's Creed Shadows is going to deliver something that Assassin's Creed fans have been asking after for nearly 15 years – an adventure across Feudal Japan. Ubisoft Quebec, the studio behind Assassin's Creed Odyssey, is set to make it happen, promising that Assassin's Creed Red will allow us to live out a shinobi fantasy and a samurai one through its dual-protagonists: Yasuke, the first Black samurai, and stealthy shadow Naoe.

Tomb Raider 4–6 Remastered

Release date: February 14, 2025
Developer: Aspyr, Crystal Dynamics
Game pass: TBC

Those who played Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and wanted more will be pleased, as Tomb Raider 4-6 is here to deliver what it says on the tin. Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation, and Tomb Raider Chronicles served as exciting continuations for the original series, showing a developer really at their prime with the tools available. The former is a rollicking Egyptian themed adventure with a bombastic finish, while the latter is an anthology-like greatest hits package of smaller adventures Lara had off-screen. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness caps off the collection with the controversial and divisive entry that swan dove onto PS2 and sadly was a swan song for the original developers' time with the series. Flawed but interesting, fans maintain it's a goodie at heart – and this refresh may make for the best way to experience the grittier final chapter of the original saga.

Date Everything

Developer: Sassy Chap Games
Release date: February 14, 2025
Game Pass: Yes

One of the most anticipated new dating sims is heading to Xbox this Valentine's Day, and it will also be available on Game Pass. Date Everything throws you into a world where every inanimate object is a potential love interest, thanks to a handy pair of glasses that turns things like your bed into a hot 2D character. There are over 100 characters for you to woo in Date Everything and multiple endings for you to explore and unlock. It looks like it will be hours of fun, and personally we can’t wait to see if we are compatible with our fridge.

Avowed

Release date: February 18, 2025
Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
Game Pass: Yes

Avowed is a brand new title from Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind The Outer Worlds and Fallout New Vegas. This is another first-person RPG that will no doubt build on the studio's penchant for epic adventures filled with memorable characters and a hint of the silly. We're off to a fantasy world called Eora for this one, and it looks pretty darn impressive, if much darker in tone than we'd usually expect from Obsidian. You've got magical abilities, a really cool sword and you will find yourself facing some seriously big monsters by the looks of things, too.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

Release date: February 18, 2025
Developer: Don't Nod
Game Pass: TBC

The folks behind Life is Strange are back at it again with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, the first entry in a new "Lost Records" universe for the developer. The teaser doesn't give too much away beyond the fact that it's a "story-driven journey" that takes place 27 years after an incredible summer back in 1995 that ultimately leaves them sharing a secret – one seemingly so serious that they've not been in contact with each other since. Luckily, we should hear more about this upcoming Xbox Series X game as it's set to release in early 2025. We've gone hands-on recently as well, and we're already attached to Lost Record's relatable cast, in love with its '90s vibes, and obsessed with the camcorder.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Developer: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios
Release date: February 21, 2025
Game Pass: TBC

We at GamesRadar+ love playing all the best Yakuza games. So when we found out that we were getting a new Like A Dragon game in 2025, you know we are keeping track of every update we can find. Set after the events of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will follow the fan-favorite character, Goro Majima, as he navigates the high seas and tries to uncover his missing memories. We can’t wait to see the new setting in action, dive into all those whacky side missions that Yakuza is known for, and start beating up our enemies while on the waves.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Release date: February 28, 2025
Developer: Capcom
Game Pass: TBC

We've had our first big look at Monster Hunter Wilds, and it's a doozy. This upcoming Xbox Series X game is landing in February 2025 and is a brand-new title in the storied franchise. The first trailer hints at larger-than-life foes, hunting parties, unique challenges, and harvesting and upgrading equipment – none of which is terribly surprising.

Two Point Museum

Release date: March 4, 2025
Developer: Two Point Studios
Game Pass: TBC

From the same developer that brought us Two Point Hospital (itself a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital) and Two Point Campus comes another establishment to engrain yourself within. Become the curator of your own museum, and arrange the exhibits however you see fit. Actually evolving the gameplay loop of its predecessors, managing Experts who gallivant around getting you new finds to display is in-depth. Not to mention the museum setting is the perfect place to exhibit the wry sense of humor the series is known for.

Split Fiction

Developer: Hazelight Studios
Release date: March 6, 2025
Game Pass: TBC

Split Fiction is a new co-op action-adventure from A Way Out and It Takes developer, Hazelight Studios. Along with a pal, you'll take on the role of either Mio or Zoe, two aspiring writers who are trying to get published by a tech company that brings stories to life within a simulation. But when the company tries to steal their stories, the pair find themselves thrown into the simulation where you'll have to work together to try to escape the very worlds they created. With a variety of creative mechanics and levels, this certainly looks like one co-op game to watch out for.

Tales of the Shire

Developer: Wētā Workshop
Release date: March 25, 2025
Game Pass: TBC

Tales of the Shire is the cozy game that every Middle-earth fan has been waiting for. In the new Xbox game you’ll get to live out your hobbit life as you farm, cook, and throw dinner parties for the rest of the folk in Bywater. The concept of Tales of the Shire alone has the potential to make it one of the best Lord of the Rings games that we’ve seen in recent years. However, during our Tales of the Shire preview, we did notice that it wasn’t quite perfect yet and that it still is a bit fetch-quest heavy. Hopefully, we’ll see Tales of the Shire reaching its true hairy foot potential come March 2025.

TBC 2025

Release date: TBC 2025

Ark 2

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Studio Wildcard
Game Pass: Yes

Ark 2 is the sequel to one of the best survival games ever made, Ark: Survival Evolved. This time around it could be that the game will lean a little more into its story, particularly with Vin Diesel starring and onboard the dev team. Otherwise though, expect more of the same dinosaur taming, surviving but in a bigger, beautiful world than ever before.

Clockwork Revolution

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: inXile
Game Pass: Yes

A brand new upcoming RPG from the Wastelands team, Clockwork Revolution was announced at Xbox Games Showcase 2023. The trailer shows a steampunk-infused world that feels both historical and futuristic, complete with blimps overhead alongside floating steam trains weaving through the cityscape. It looks an awful lot like BioShock: Infinite in more ways than one, but we're still keen to see more from this first-person gunslinging adventure in the coming months.

The Alters

Release date: Q1 2025
Developer: 11 bit studios
Game Pass: Yes

Jan Dolski is trapped and alone on a far-flung planet. It doesn't help that everyone he's stuck there with is doing his head in. But wait, didn't we say he was alone? That's right – he's trapped alongside clones of himself, which he's forced to keep creating in order to have more hands to help with the escape attempt. The device can allow him to alter key decisions in his life to create new versions of him with different skills, but, naturally, that can cause emotional conflicts as well.

33 Immortals

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Thunder Lotus
Game Pass: Yes

33 Immortals is a new co-op roguelike experience from Spiritfarer developer Thunder Lotus that, as the name suggests, supports 33-players in match raids. With various builds to choose from, you'll take on the role of damned souls who set out to rebel against God's judgement. The online multiplayer aims to encourage players to collaborate and work together through runs against enemy hordes. Though originally planned to launch in 2024, a delay during October's Xbox Partner Showcase means we'll have to wait until 2025 to dive into this one.

FBC: Firebreak

Developer: Remedy Entertainment
Release date: TBC 2025
Game Pass: Yes

Fresh off the back of Alan Wake 2's Lakehouse DLC, Remedy Entertainment has revealed the studio's first multiplayer shooter, FBC: Firefight. Set in the world of Control, FBC: Firefight will task players with teaming up to defend the surreal Oldest House from supernatural invaders. A co-op shooter may be the last thing you'd expect from Remedy, but from what we've seen of the game's Left 4 Dead 2-style horde combat and wacky guns, another trip to the Bureau seems like an easy sell.

Borderlands 4

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Gearbox Software
Game Pass: TBC

At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, we got the biggest reveal of the year: Borderlands 4 is coming out in 2025. Yep, that's right, we are getting some more looter shooter action. However, we won't be returning to Pandora this time around. Instead, players will explore new alien planets as they hunt for treasure and blast their way through waves of enemies. We can't wait, and this is easily one of our favorite upcoming Xbox Series X games to keep track of.

Crimson Desert

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Pearl Abyss
Game Pass: TBC

Crimson Desert is one of the most exciting upcoming open world games heading our way in 2025. From the developers of Black Desert Online, players will be thrown into a sprawling medieval adventure as they fight to survive on the war-torn continent of Pywel. So far, we know that the new Xbox Series X game will launch sometime in Q2 2025. However, we’re still waiting for a specific release date and news on whether or not it will be available on Game Pass as well. So, stay tuned for updates!

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector

(Image credit: Jump Over The Age, Fellow Traveller)

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Jump Over The Age
Game Pass: TBC

Inspired by tabletop RPGs, this sequel to the celebrated narrative-heavy dice-roller smooths over rough edges while adding loads more options. The removal of the stressful element that required you to obtain medicine to stay functional (your body is synthetic) doesn't completely remove friction, instead replacing it with banked dice that you need to manage before the break more closely, and tense missions that play out like the main game in microcosm as you and a party try to complete it while dealing with crises along the way. Sure to be a sci-fi story for the ages.

Doom: The Dark Ages

Release date: TBC 2025

Have you ever wanted to load a shotgun with human skulls, crush them up, and fire the shards at your enemies? In Doom: The Dark Ages, that'll be more than possible. The new Doom game blew us away at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, showing off its gnarly FPS action in an explosive reveal trailer that has become the stuff of legends already. We'll be keeping an eye on this one as we head into the new year, but for now, it's good to know that 2025 marks the year we'll get our hands on this upcoming Xbox game that launches day-one on Game Pass.

Fable 4

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Playground Games
Game Pass: Yes

The wait for news was more than worth it after Fable started the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 off strong. Fable 4 sees the series' trademark British, tongue-in-cheek humor is returning, and we can't wait already. We've had our first look at the fantastical world of Albion as it stands in the new game, and with Richard Ayoade showing up as a hero-grabbing big boss, it's safe to say Playground looks set to impress us when it launches in 2025.

GTA 6

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Rockstar Games
Game Pass: TBC

Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 is coming in 2025, and it's set to bring us back to Vice City. Subnautica 2

Release date: TBC early 2025
Developer: Unknown Worlds Entertainment
Game Pass: Yes

While we still bicker over whether Subnautica is a horror game, Unknown Worlds Entertainment has quietly cracked on with its long-awaited sequel. Set to launch in Early Access within early 2025, Subnautica 2's biggest addition will be co-op, and it will be available on Game Pass from day one. Besides that, we know very little about Subnautica 2 - but that's just part of the fun (or fear), isn't it?

Killing Floor 3

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Tripwire Interactive
Game Pass: TBC

The king of zombie horde shooters is back. Killing Floor 3 is the next instalment in Tripwire's legendary FPS series, and it's got more zombie-blasting bullet-busting action than you can shake an AK-47 at. All of your favorite grotesque ZEDs are making a grand return, with some new faces in tow for good measure. Guns will also be fully moddable this time around, meaning it'll be time to get extra creative with your zombie slaying come Killing Floor 3's as-yet-unconfirmed 2025 release.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

(Image credit: Leenzee / 505 Games)

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Lenzee
Game Pass: Yes

We've been waiting for more Wuchang: Fallen Feathers news since its reveal earlier in the year, and October's Xbox Partner Showcase delivered. Thanks to its latest trailer, we now know that we'll be visiting a fantasy-tinged Ming Dynasty as the titular Wuchang, a pirate who must fight in brutal soulslike combat to save (or doom) the land of Shu. With a day one Game Pass launch set to arrive some time in 2025, this one is one to watch for anyone who enjoyed Black Myth: Wukong earlier this year.

Mafia: The Old Country

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Hangar 13
Game Pass: TBC

Gritty historical action-adventures exactly your style? Gear up for Mafia: The Old Country, because it's already looking set to blow our tiny minds. Transporting players back in time to 1900s Sicily, this narrative-heavy peek into Italian-American gang culture will bring us "back to the roots of what fans love about the Mafia series." There's little else we know about Mafia: The Old Country right now, save that it's most likely eyeballing a 2025 release date, but watch this space as we learn more from publisher 2k over the coming months.

Mixtape

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Beethoven and Dinosaur
Game Pass: Yes

90s tunes, skateboarding, and the ravages of youth. That's the vibe Mixtape wants to encapsulate when it launches in 2025. Set against a soundtrack of veritable bangers, each one unlocking a core memory from the hazy days of youth, Mixtape is one for the nostalgic 80s and 90s kids who still hold their battered old Walkman in the highest regard (as well as the skateboarding scars to prove their mettle). Life is Strange fans, look no further.

Replaced

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Sad Cat Studios
Game Pass: TBC

Replaced is set in a 2.5D sci-fi retro-futuristic world where you play as Reach, an artificial intelligence that's trapped in a human body against its own will. As an action platformer, Sad Cat Studios describes Replaced as an experience that "combines cinematic platforming, pixel art and free-flow action combat" that's set in an alternate take on the 1980s.

South of Midnight

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: Compulsion Games
Game Pass: Yes

A new entry from the We Happy Few developer, South of Midnight is an upcoming Xbox Series X game set to release sometime in 2025. It was announced during this year's Xbox Games Showcase, and the creepy art style and web-spinning we've seen from the trailer is enough to have us excited already. This is the first we've heard from Compulsion Games since Microsoft acquired the studio in 2018, so it's definitely one to watch out for.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Release date: TBC 2025
Developer: The Chinese Room
Game Pass: TBC

The original game was a slightly ramshackle but beloved cult classic that was more or less ‘Deus Ex but Vampires.’ This takes the same idea but updates it to a modern setting where 'The Masquerade' - the rules by which vampires stay hidden - has been broken upheaving the brittle peace between numerous factions, each with different skills and abilities. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is about crafting a supernatural character whose abilities shape your approach to its open missions - you can fight, sneak, or talk your way through a world of turf wars, subterfuge, and political machinations with your actions affecting everyone around you.

Assassin's Creed Hexe

Release date: TBC
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Game Pass: TBC

Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe is the most mysterious upcoming Assassin's Creed game, with Ubisoft Montreal having only teased a vibe and location. Looking at the first trailer, it would appear that the vibe is super creepy, while the setting is rumored to be 16th Century Europe as it was becoming enveloped in the devastating witch trials. Codename Hexe is in development at Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Ubisoft Montreal, so we're certainly excited to see what the team can come up with this time.

Assassin's Creed Infinity

Release date: TBC
Developer: Ubisoft
Game Pass: TBC

Assassin's Creed Infinity isn't a game, per se, but rather the connective tissue that will bring all future flagship Assassin's Creed games together. At least, that's what Ubisoft is teasing. Codename Infinity is said to act as an interactive hub of sorts and, not unlike the Animus itself, it will allow players to connect more seamlessly with all corners of history. We're still waiting for more info on this one, but *we expect it to launch in tandem with Assassin's Creed Shadows.

She Dreams Elsewhere

Release date: TBC
Developer: Studio Zevere
Game Pass: Yes

Trapped in a coma, Thalia's only hope of escape is to confront her own nightmares that are keeping her there. She Dreams Elsewhere has a surreal art style that nods towards Undertale and Earthbound (and has similar turn-based combat to match), the strange world within Thalia's mind is filled with interesting and intriguing places to explore. Characters can be customized in combat using Charms, and further enhanced by building Connections with them (which we hope is a little like Persona in action).

Contraband

Release date: TBC
Developer: Avalanche Studios
Game Pass: Yes

From the creators of Just Cause comes Contraband. This is a brand new, open-world, co-op game that is set in the fictional world of Bayan during the 1970s. This smugglers paradise is a bit of a mystery at present, as is the core gameplay, so watch out for more details on this upcoming Xbox Series X game.

Everwild

Release date: TBC
Developer: Rare
Game Pass: Yes

Everwild is a brand new IP from Rare – the developer behind Sea of Thieves, Banjo-Kazooie, Battletoads, and more – and all we have so far is one trailer. It's filled with colorful and fantastical creatures that interact with humans cautiously in a slightly otherworldly setting. It's not clear yet what kind of game it'll be, but there's clearly a threat from predators in this world too. Whatever form it eventually takes, it's clear that this upcoming Xbox Series X game is going to be a beauty.

Gears of War: E-Day

Release date: TBC
Developer: The Coalition
Game Pass: TBC

Gears is back, but it's not Gears of War 6 like you might have hoped for. Instead, Gears of War: E-Day is rewinding the clock to give us a prequel of the very first game, featuring plenty of returning faces. The reveal trailer shown at Xbox Games Showcase blew us away, so now, it's just a matter of waiting out for some more intel before we get back into the action with some fan favorites.

Mass Effect 5

Release date: TBC
Developer: Bioware
Game Pass: TBC

After much praying to the video game gods, there is, in fact, a new Mass Effect game en route. Technically Mass Effect 5, it's looking likely that it will pick up after the events of Mass Effect 3 - if the trailer clues are anything to be believed. Info is scarce right now, but it's all looking very promising indeed for Mass Effect fans.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Release date: TBC
Developer: Konami
Game Pass: TBC

News of Konami's MGS3 remake caused major hype when Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was announced as part of the PlayStation Showcase 2023. The game is said to be a faithful reimagining of the 2004 action title, and with no platform exclusivity, we can expect to see it on Xbox Series X in the hopefully not-too-distant future. There's no confirmed release date as yet, but we're crossing our fingers that it could come as soon as 2025. We've loved what we've played so far, though, saying in our Metal Gear Delta: Snake Eater hands-on preview that it's "shaping up to be the definitive way to experience Big Boss' origins".

Marathon

Release date: TBC
Developer: Bungie
Game Pass: TBC

A classic extraction shooter is getting a fresh lick of paint, as Bungie pivots from its Destiny 2 and Halo IPs to revive this 90s gunslinger. The announcement trailer for Marathon shows a litany of brightly-suited characters wielding some impressive weapons, looking not unlike battle royale hero shooters akin to Fortnite or Apex Legends. We don't yet know when the title is expected to launch, but it's one to watch for 2024 and beyond.

OD

Release date: TBC
Developer: Kojima Productions
Game Pass: Yes

The long-rumored Xbox game from Hideo Kojima, OD "explores the concept of testing your fear threshold," according to the announcement, as well as "what it means to OD on fear." It's described as a new form of media somewhere between a game and movie, and features popular actors Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schaffer, and Udo Kier in lead roles. Did we mention Jordan Peele is involved?

Pragmata

Release date: TBC
Developer: Capcom
Game Pass: No

Pragmata feels like if someone took Kojima's Death Stranding and somehow made it even weirder - especially from this early look at the game. Clearly set in New York, the game sees some sort of spacesuit-wearing traveller looking out for a young girl, and eventually taking her to the moon. Holographic cats, robots, and a weird dystopian vibe run throughout, even suggesting the world the characters are existing in isn't even real. We're intrigued by this one.

Project 007

Release date: TBC
Developer: IO Interactive
Game Pass: TBC

Although not much is known about Project 007 yet, it's exciting to think that a brand new James Bond game is in the works. In development at IO Interactive (of Hitman fame), the game is an entirely original James Bond story focused on his origins. Aside from that though, it's a mystery that we can't wait to hear more about.

Perfect Dark

Release date: TBC
Developer: The Initiative, Crystal Dynamics
Game Pass: Yes

This one came as quite the surprise at the Game Awards 2020 - there's a new Perfect Dark game en route from new Xbox Game Studios developer, The Initiative. Rather than another remaster, this is a reboot of the series that keeps the secret agent gameplay and our hero, Joanna Dark, into an eco sci-fi tale set in the near future. Expect plenty of spy gadgets, some gloriously hybrid buildings, and some aliens along the way.

Routine

Release date: TBC
Developer: Lunar Software
Game Pass: TBC

Routine is a brand new survival horror game from developer Lunar Software. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Routine was actually announced a decade ago. The studio announced it, showed a little of its haunting sci-fi world to the public, and then disappeared from the face of the planet. We're happy Routine is back though, because between the low-fi tech you'll need to wield to survive, some genuinely awe-inspiring environments, and hellishly creepy androids, this looks like an unmissable horror game. Routine doesn't have a release window, but it is set to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Game Pass.

State of Decay 3

Release date: TBC
Developer: Undead Labs
Game Pass: Yes

State of Decay is back with the third entry in the zombie survival-horror series. Cleverly called State of Decay 3. Currently in early development, it's looking to bring fans the 'ultimate' zombie survival sim, and from the looks of the first trailer, it's going to brutal. Zombie deers, folks. Zombie deers. Graphically the game looks fantastic, so expect things to be even more gruesome than ever before.
