The upcoming Bethesda games coming our way promise to bring back the beloved RPG series that studio is known for. From Elder Scrolls to Fallout, we might be in for quite a wait for the new entries to arrive, but it's undoubtedly an exciting time for the Skyrim developer.
Bethesda has certainly been busy in recent years. Following the release of Starfield back in 2023, we've also seen the arrival of its first expansion Starfield Shattered Space, and Machine Games also put us in the role of the iconic adventurous archaeologist in the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in 2024. But with the release and success of the Fallout TV series, thoughts have been firmly back on the rad-filled world - even if we can expect a long wait to return to the Wasteland. Over the last decade, Skyrim has enjoyed immense success, with the fantasy RPG finding its way onto almost every platform imaginable over the years. With so much love for Elder Scrolls out there among players, it's no surprise that another installment is in the works. That's right, we are getting The Elder Scrolls 6!
First announced with a short teaser officially confirming its existence with a title reveal in 2018, very little is known about Elder Scrolls 6 as the team's main focus has been on Starfield for the past few years. Current projects point to Elder Scrolls 6 releasing in 2026 at the earliest, but there's a good chance that we'll be waiting a little while longer.

As one of the longest-running IPs now owned by Bethesda, another Fallout entry has always been on the cards. In fact, even before it was addressed by Todd Howard, seeing a Fallout 5 someday felt inevitable, given the success of Fallout 4. We don't yet know much about our return to the post-apocalyptic world.
However, we know that Bethesda is working on The Elder Scrolls 6 first, and that it takes them roughly five years to make a new Fallout game. With that in mind, if The Elder Scrolls 6 releases in 2026, we are looking at a 2030 release date for Fallout 5. We'll keep you posted as more updates head our way.
