LUCKNOW: In a boost to the energy sector, the state government on Tuesday approved the proposal to set up a 1600 Mw in Anpara. The project, proposed as Anpara E, will be set up by Meja Utpadan Nigam Limited, a joint venture of the state owned UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) and NTPC.
The proposal to set up the project was green signaled by the board of UPRVUNL before being sent to the state government for its formal approval. According to chairman of UPRVUNL, Ashish Goyal, the project is estimated to cost Rs 18624 crore. The Corporation, however, gave no timeline for the implementation of the project.
