LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath sprang a few surprises while allocating portfolios to his ministers on Monday, taking away the important public works department from deputy CM Keshav Maurya, and giving the middleweight medical-health and medical education departments to the other deputy, Brajesh Pathak. According to the portfolio list released by Raj Bhavan late Monday evening, Yogi has kept 34 departments, including home.
PWD has gone to Congress import Jitin Prasada, while another newcomer, former IAS officer and former PMO official AK Sharma, has been given urban development and power, two crucial departments whose performances would be key to BJP’s show in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in the state.
