UP CM Yogi Adityanath asks officers to make farmers aware of impact of stubble burning

LUCKNOW: Expressing concern over the rising pollution caused by stubble burning in the state, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officers to make farmers aware of its adverse impact on the environment.

The CM told officers to also raise farmers’ awareness of strategies, such as stubble fermentation by watering it and adding urea to it, in order to tackle the issue. Measures should be taken to prevent incidents of stubble burning by setting up camps for district-level officers in sensitive villages, the CM directed, adding that employees from various departments should be assigned the task of coordination.
