'Unwell' Alison Hammond warned to 'stop following' Paddy McGuinness as he's left mortified by ITV This Morning blunder

Paddy McGuinness was back on This Morning with his usual chaotic energy which left Alison Hammond suggesting that she felt 'unwell'. The comedian and TV host was on the ITV daytime programme on Friday (March 31) to chat about his new Channel 4 show, Tempting Fortune.

The new competition show, with a twist, sees twelve strangers trek across South Africa, but who'll spend some of the shared £300k prize pot on individual luxuries? However, Paddy's appearance on the show to talk about it quickly descended into chaos when the 49-year-old didn't realise he was live on-air following a rather risque comment.

As host Dermot O'Leary explained to viewers that singer Marti Pellow would be performing live on the ITV show, Paddy appeared to be unaware he was not on the air. As footage from one of Marti's music videos of a woman caressing her body was shown, Paddy could be heard saying: "Look at that... yes!"

After Paddy made the comment, which he insisted was about Marti, he asked host Alison Hammond: "Tell me now, be serious, because you know what it's like, are we on [air]?" Dermot and Alison then started to laugh before Alison quipped: "I don't feel very well."

Paddy then said: "Seriously, you two before I start effing and jeffing, are we on? Are we on the telly?" Dermot replied: "I apologise, but yes, this is on the telly," to which a mortified Paddy said: "Oh my God, why didn't you give me a heads up?"

They did eventually get on with the interview but Paddy couldn't help but give Alison, 48, a warning. The Top Gear and Question of Sport host said: "Can I just say as well, while we're here, Bake Off - well done," referring to her new hosting gig on the hit Channel 4 show which was revealed earlier this month.

Alison then smiled and giggled nervously as the thanked Paddy. However, it didn't end there as Paddy jokingly urged Alison to stop following him and get her own gigs. "I'm on ITV, you're on ITV. I go to the Beeb, you come to the Beeb. I do Channel 4, you're there," Paddy said before pointing his finger at the mum-of-one and saying, with a raised voice: "Stop following me!"

Alison burst out laughing before she defended herself by saying: "It's because I love ya. It's because I love you." Taking the joke a bit further, Paddy jokingly fumed: "Get your own gigs Hammond," before laughing it off. He then went on to add: "Sick of giving you a leg up in the business."

Paddy was also quizzed on whether fans can expect a reboot of his and Peter Kay's beloved comedy show, Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere. He revealed: "We wrote a couple of Christmas specials a long, long time ago, with a plan to do them and they just never happened.

"So, they’re there, but there’s certainly nothing scheduled or anything like that. I’d love to! Because it’s just like, when you’re working with your mates it’s not work is it really."

He then added, talking about Peter returning to stand-up with a mammoth arena tour stretching all the way to 2025: "The thing is with Pete, he transcends stand-up and all that. When he does live shows, the demand and everything else, there’s no one like him and there will be no one after him. He’s a one off."
