United States sets September date for tourist visas

KOLKATA: The United States is finally set to open visas for tourists in September, ending the anxiety of thousands of families who have been waiting endlessly to visit relatives and friends residing there.

Germany, too, has not been issuing Schengen visas or short term (up to 90 days) travel visas while the wait time for Canadian visas is currently six to 11 months. The United Kingdom and Switzerland have managed to streamline the processing and reduce the wait period.
