- Around the same time, a pilot on a United Express flight also reported spotting a drone at approximately 2,000 feet while approaching Newark.
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently investigating the incident, which occurred around 5:20 p.m.
- Drone activity near airports is a growing concern, with the FAA receiving over 100 reports monthly, and flying drones near aircraft or airports is illegal, carrying potential fines and criminal charges.
