A horror stabbing at a university campus has reportedly left one student dead and another two injured.
The knifeman is thought to be on the run following the attack inside a college dorm room.
Three students were rushed to hospital and one later died from their injuries.
Students of the university were told in an email that detectives were on the hunt for a person of interest, reports CBS Philly.
Chester County District Attorney said the attack took place at 9.30pm on Wednesday at Lincoln University, in Pennsylvania, US.
The condition of the other two students is not known and their identities have not yet been released.
An investigation is underway to find out what led to the stabbing and no more information has been provided on the suspect.
A total 1,767 students enrolled at the university in autumn, according to its website.
The school said it is "deeply saddened" by the attack in a statement released on Thursday morning.
It read: "We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred on campus last night.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We take the safety of our students seriously and are working with local authorities as there is an ongoing investigation.
"We have no further comment at this time."
