A man has been arrested after being found unconscious and in possession of a loaded shotgun following a motorcycle crash, police allege.
The 33-year-old has been charged with possessing a prohibited firearm, trafficking in a controlled drug, possessing stolen property and possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse.
He is set to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, hours after being found by police in the middle of the night on Florey Drive in Macgregor.
Officers woke the man when they determined he was not injured following what appeared to be a crash.
When police searched the accused man, they found the gun, a machete, two vials of a liquid substance suspected of being GHB and a small quantity of what is believed to be methamphetamine.
A motorcycle that had been reported stolen was found nearby.
"Police believed the man to be under the influence of illicit drugs and he was transported to hospital for treatment," an ACT Policing spokesperson said.
